Hiring Las Vegas Movers just got easier
Local and Long Distance
What should I know before hiring a moving company in Las Vegas?
The first thing you should know before hiring a Las Vegas moving company is that all Las Vegas movers must be licensed in the city they're home based at. This means that if you can't look up their license there's something wrong. The laws are not loosey-goosey when it comes to moving companies and there's a reason for that. When it comes to moving companies the local and federal governments knows it has to protect the consumer and therefor the licensing is not easy to get nor is it a flexible license.
You should also know that all movers in Las Vegas or outside Las Vegas have to listed with the U.S. Department of Transportation. This means that any company that is moving interstate deliveries must have a registered number with the U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT link www.transportation.gov). So if you're moving from one state to another state this number should be on hand.
It's also important to know that all Las Vegas movers have to have insurance (Cargo Insurance). The state of Nevada mandates that all moving companies must have insurance, and this is something you could ask for.
As a consumer you could also buy insurance for your move that would cover damages that might not be mandatory under the law. This insurance could be different from one policy to another so if it's something you would like to buy make sure you read all the details as the smallest thing could make a difference for you.
All worker employees (movers personal) must have a background check. This was done to try to help consumers from having to deal with mishaps and other situations. So keep in mind when I hiring a legit moving company in Las Vegas that follows the laws and rules you could be a lot safer.
